Competitive Program

Thanks for your interest in the Amelia Island Youth Soccer competitive program. Our club offers players at the U9 and older age groups the opportunity to play at a higher level. The mission of the program is to provide the number one soccer program in the state of Florida, where players who have demonstrated the ability and commitment to play at the highest level can receive the advanced and competitive playing required to compete successfully statewide, regionally and potentially nationally.

Competitive Program Goals

Provide quality coaching to help, guide, direct and assist players to reach their full potential. Provide a training environment that is age-appropriate, challenging, motivating, enjoyable, encouraging, stimulating and realistic to the game. Provide an ideal game environment that is age/ability appropriate against teams that will push the players to their maximum capabilities, where players receive “fear free” playing time and are encouraged to keep possession goal to goal.  Have Directors of Coaching who have the education, background and vision to fulfill the club and program mission statements. Provide a player identification system that can find the top players and place them in the appropriate level and program.

Seasons
Competitive Program commitment is for one year and has two seasons:Tryout are in May.
Fall (August – November)
Spring (February – May)

Games/Tournaments

AIYS competitive teams will play in the EDP North Florida league  EDP North Florida.
The EDP Florida Competitive Leagues are designed to support the US Soccer mission to make soccer the preeminent sport in the United States by focusing on player development; meaningful games scheduled appropriately so youth players can train, compete and recover, and sensible travel to save costs and time. The multiple leagues format and opportunities for progression are intended to provide readily understood pathways based on on-the-field performance that connect local, metro, and sub-regional levels of play with Florida to statewide, regional and national competitive platforms promoted by US Youth Soccer.

Each team will play 6-8 games per season and 1-2 tournaments that are appropriate for their level of play.
