Before You Go!

Field Closures

During inclement weather, the Board of Directors will make a decision daily as to close the fields based on the current field conditions and expected weather conditions.  The official status will be listed on the AIYS Soccer Club homepage.  Status changes will be sent out via RainedOut which will send all registered users a text message If you are interested in signing up for the text message, click the logo below.

It is important to note that weather conditions at the field can be very different than the surrounding areas.  Always check the website before leaving for practice or games.

Lightening
FYSA and AISC follows the 30-30 rule when determining whether or not to cancel events.  The rule below.  During practices, it is the either the Board of Directors' or coach's responsibility to determine when to suspend or cancel practice.  During games, it is the either the Board of Directors' or referee’s responsibility to determine when to suspend or cancel games.  At any time, a parent may choose to remove their player from the field.

30-30 rule

  • When you see lightning, count the time until you hear thunder. If this time is 30 seconds or less, seek proper shelter. If you can’t see the lightning, just hearing the thunder is a good back-up rule.
  • Wait 30 minutes or more after hearing the last thunder before leaving shelter.

Background Checks-CDC Heads Up Training

All coaches must complete a background check and CDC Heads Up Concussion training prior to being assigned as a coach, team manager, and/or referee.  The following document outlines how to complete both.
