Game Change Policy

It is the coach's responsibility to coordinate any schedule changes with the opposing coach.  Once an agreement is reached, both coaches must get approval from their respective club.  For the AIYS, the coach needs to contact their respective director.  The home team's club will make the modification in GotSoccer to record the schedule change.  Notification of schedule changes should be at least 14 days prior to the scheduled game.

For schedule changes for games, please contact the associated director for that division and he will contact the Referee Assignor and Club Scheduler.

No Shows

The club will incur a fine of $200 for select games plus any referee fees paid for any no-shows.  It is the coach's responsibility to ensure no games are missed.

Inclement Weather

Field Closures

During inclement weather, the Board of Directors will make a decision daily as to close the fields based on the current field conditions and expected weather conditions.  The official status will be listed on the AIYS Soccer Club homepage.

It is important to note that weather conditions at the field can be very different than the surrounding areas.  Always check the website before leaving for practice or games.

Lightning
FYSA and AISC follows the 30-30 rule when determining whether or not to cancel events.  The rule below.  During practices, it is the either the Board of Directors' or coach's responsibility to determine when to suspend or cancel practice.  During games, it is the either the Board of Directors' or referee’s responsibility to determine when to suspend or cancel games.  At any time, a parent may choose to remove their player from the field.

30-30 rule

  • When you see lightning, count the time until you hear thunder. If this time is 30 seconds or less, seek proper shelter. If you can’t see the lightning, just hearing the thunder is a good back-up rule.
  • Wait 30 minutes or more after hearing the last thunder before leaving shelter.
