Nassau United FC

Hello AIYS Family’s,

With all of the growth in Nassau County, our AIYS Board members have been working with Nassau County Department of Parks and Recreation to ensure our club has a presence in the county and not just on Fernandina Beach. Currently 2/3 of the club is Non-Fernandina Beach City residence. Nassau County is in the process of building three new parks, two of them in Yulee and a third one out in Hilliard.

Nassau Crossing Park, located at the east end of William Burges Blvd next to HWY 17. This park has an amazing playground, fishing pond, viewing gazebos, walking paths and two soccer fields. Scheduled to be complete June 2022.

Tributary Regional Park, located on the west side of I-95. This parks amenities include: Soccer Field (Multi use fields) Baseball fields, trails, playground with pavilion, and kayak pond. The park is expected to finish August 2022. Just in time for Fall Season.

Westside Regional Park, located at U.S. 1 across from Mizell Tract Road, Hilliard Florida.
Phase One of the park will feature a variety of amenities including pavilions throughout the park, outdoor event/green space, community playground, restrooms, multi-use trails, a fishing pond and multi-purpose field. Completion time unknown, estimate sometime in 2023.

Amelia Island Youth Soccer (AIYS) Real Amelia FC has decided to rebrand its name to Nassau United FC, which is a better representation of all our members.

The inaugural fall season of Nassau United FC promises to bring an increased access to fields and training space, a larger pool of players for competitive teams (Callahan Renegade players), and increased player development opportunities for all athletes in Nassau County and surrounding area. This move to secure fields off the island ensures a strong presence of soccer in our community for future generations.

How will this impact you?

Recreational playersNo Change to Our Recreational Programs! We will continue to provide the same format of recreational soccer as our spring season with no changes to location, training days or games. We don’t anticipate any games for recreational players off the island this first season. However, as we continue to grow and more parks become available that will be an option down the road.

Competitive playersNew LOGO and Uniforms. New practice fields. New training App. New Veo camera. All other aspect of the competitive program will remain the same.

We are expecting a larger pool of players’ 180-200 players trying out this season. Players from Callahan, Camden and our club. Teams will be U9-U19 groups with all teams playing in EDP Florida Competitive Leagues. Competitive teams will practice primarily at one of the two new parks, Tributary Regional Park or Nassau Crossing Park. There will be no change in home game location, we still plan to have centralized game at our current field, due to referee shortages.

Competitive tryouts for our Fall 2022/2023 Season
May 2-5, 2022 for high school age players
May 9-12, 2022 for all other players.
