PRACTICE CANCELLED: Wednsday March 19th

Once again, practice is cancelled for tonight. The fields are still recuperating from the late season snow. From the St. Mary's Parks and Rec site:

“WEDNESDAY, March 19 – All outdoor activities on all outdoor athletic fields, both practice and game, have been canceled for today due to field saturation.”

I am hoping that the fiels will be usable tomorrow night. We can focus on hitting and outfield, or anything that will keep us off the diamond.

3 additional things:

-I would like to set a way to send out mass communication other than this website and email. Last year my team used texting. If you are ok with me sending you texts with updates on practices/games/rainouts, please respond to this email ([email protected]) or shoot me a text (815-245-2023).

-Since we have had several cancelled practices so far, I would like to see if we could hold something on Saturday or Sunday. The other SMALL intermediate team practices at Dorsey on Sundays, so I may try to set up a scrimmage for this Sunday at noon. If this is a problem for the majority of the team, then I will just hold to our regularly scheduled practices, so please let me know if you are unavilable.

-I have had one parent, Briamn Frank, step in to help me coach the Orioles this year. If I could have one more, that would be great. There may be days when I am called out on travel and it is very helpful to have 2 coaches for games and practices. If you are interested, please email or text me and I can send you the necessary volunteer paperwork.
